Lamborghini Murcielago 40th Anniversary Edition

Alan Robb, Modena Cars (Lamborghini High Wycombe)

Working at a Lamborghini dealership may sound like constant glamour and fun, but in reality it's a taxing environment. Mistakes are not tolerated, we have extremely high standards that need to be upheld and we are rushed off our feet; I simply don't have time to waste.

I think I have a better understanding than most of what makes a good detailer (and what doesn't). Some of the woeful companies who have demonstrated their services here have left me speechless. They have seriously thought that an exotic car dealer would be happy with their service and work.

I see approximately one new detailing company a week, desperately trying to get our business. No-one, but no-one, has been good enough for me to take on, and associate ourselves with, as anything that goes out of the showroom directly reflects on me, the Service Manager.

Paul on the other hand didn't boast, came in, quietly, and let his work do the talking. He blew me away. And seeing as we have one of the finest bodyshops in the land, I thought we knew how to prep cars.

I am anal when it comes to knowledge of my product, to the effect that I can bore you rigid regarding anything to do with supercars. The best way to describe Paul is that he is equally anal when it comes to the knowledge of his field. That's why I use him to prepare our sales cars, such is our satisfaction in his work.

When we are picking up the bill - even if we are selling the most exotic cars on the road - we like to get value for money. Even his top 'Pinnacle' detail, which costs many thousands of pounds, is fair considering he spends weeks to complete the work and that it is a fraction of the price tag (or respray cost) of the £150-850k cars that it will be applied to. But even if you don't have thousands to spend, there is still likely to be a detail to suit. And it will leave you impressed, if not astounded.

I urge anyone who has any doubts to view the website gallery, or visit our showroom to see the level of work Paul does. It will amaze you. It may be a cliche, but it's true: seeing is believing.

Alan.
