Most people (including myself) would assume that a brand new car from the dealer would have a paint job that is.... well... as good as new! In the past I'd never considered having a car detailed and somehow thought that it couldn't make much difference on a new car. When I heard about Miracle Detail, at first I didn't really understand what detailing was and how it differed to a car being valeted, however, Paul soon changed that!
I arranged to have my Lotus detailed at the dealer so I could pick it up and admire Paul's handywork. What I wasn't prepared for was just how amazing the car actually looked. There were no swirl marks and the light reflected off at every angle giving the paintwork the appearance of glass. Paul went out of his way to detail the car on the same day as I had armourfend applied and he worked with the armourfend fitter to ensure that the paint was faultless before it went on. Working in conjunction with armourfend has resulted in an invisible finish, so instead of the car looking shrink wrapped, there are no discernable edges to the protective coating at all.
In addition to Paul's efforts on the day, he has also taken time out of his weekend to show me how to properly wash the car and give the Lotus its first wash. Primarily, being a stickler for detail, Paul wanted to check that the ****** wax he had applied was living up to his exacting standards. Paul turned up in his Miracle van, which has absolutely everything he needs to detail any car of any size. The day before the wash, I had driven the Lotus down miles of country lanes chasing my friend in her TVR Griffith and was aghast at the fact that there were no stone chips on the front of the car at all. The ****** wax, in addition to the armourfend acts as a protective layer and has really helped to stave off stone chips.
I have found that it is rare to meet people who have a true calling in life. In fact I thought I was pretty good at looking after my cars and washing them up until now. If anyone tells me they can get the same result as Paul in an afternoon with top quality products, I would smile knowlingly. This sort of skill takes years of understanding how different materials react to leading car care products. Paul has honed this skill to an art. The car looks insane. Bit like an Andy Warhol :-)
