Paul Dalton, aka Miracle Detail, is a genius. He's well known to be one of the very best in car detailers and is in great demand. I came across his name when my friend Ian,at Cooper Banstead, suggested that I should consider switching to Paul's signature wax from AutoGlym. Paul has had several years experience in the motor industry and about three years ago, decided to devote his time and considerable energy to detailing cars using Paul's signature wax products.
To say that he is a perfectionist is a complete understatement.
Paul first saw my car (E60) when it had come from PDI at Brooklands. The car was sitting in the backlot at Cooper Banstead and he noticed many swirl marks caused by improper washing at PDI. BMW paint is softer than other car makers paints and will pickup light scratches easily. Too easily in my opinion. Anyway, a couple of days after I had taken delivery of the car he came over to start work on it. Three and a half days later, with swirl marks gone and three layers of Crystal rock on it, it was a TOTALLY DIFFERENT car to what I had bought!
At the same time, Paul applied Paul's signature wax to our Alpina B3S. Since the Alpina was Titanium Silver, any swirl marks were less apparent than on the Carbon Black 545. Besides, we are expecting to replace the B3S with a Cabrio version this summer, so I didn't see the point in spending thousands on it.
The bottom line: if you can afford it, Paul's signature wax it! Subsequent car washing is p*** easy and the wax lasts longer than AutoGlym.
